Missing child found

A Jamestown boy reported missing was found safe Tuesday afternoon, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Stutsman County Communications Center alerted JPD to a call about an 8-year-old boy reported missing in southeast Jamestown at 12:44 p.m., according to Sgt. Tyler Loven, day shift supervisor. The boy was staying with relatives and apparently had wandered off, he said.

At that point JPD officers were out trying to locate the child

“We were doing everything that we could,” Loven said.

The child was located at 3:21 p.m., at a residence known to the child and also in southeast Jamestown, he said.

“The child was fine and safe,” he said.
